James Kessinger – Artist / Innovator : "Adopting a style to suit his life's situation"
James has never felt so much handicapped by his vision impairment as given an opportunity to try to better understand the world around him. Unhampered by conventional vision or formal training, he has embarked on the exercise of self expression via the creation of works of art from his own unique perspective on life.
James has been referred to within the Artistic Community as the father of "Strata Reduction," a new and vibrant form of "Abstract Impressionism." His work has been described as "Totally Non Derivative" and "Zen-like" by many of the people involved in the discovery of his work. Though he's only actually presented his work for public consumption within the last 3 years, he has already sold approximately 200 pieces at auction with several bought on the international stage.
He feels his success to this point lies more in his search for truth and total honest expression of that truth as he "sees it" than in attempting to render in a more conventional manner what most people "see." James finds inspiration in the physical / psychological effort itself, letting the work speak to him throughout the entire creative process.
